"Jaebum, do you want anything to eat?" The twenty three year old's mother asked him, as the male was on his way to his room.

"No thanks umma, I'm fine." Jaebum shook his head, a small smile on his face.

His mother seemed to think otherwise. She hesitated slightly before speaking, "Are you okay, hun?"

Jaebum's smile faltered a little at the simple question, but he shook it off. "Yeah, I'm good."

He continued through the kitchen and into the hallway. He sighed deeply, leaning on the wall with his left hand going through his hair. 'I'm just lying to myself now.'

After standing there for some time, he made his way up the stairs and into his room. Upon arriving, he immediately jumped onto his bed, his face in his pillow.

That afternoon at one of AOM's battles, he had seen a crew composed of six guys. These weren't just any six guys, as they all reminded Jaebum of his former band mates. Their routine, their personalities, all of it made his heart feel heavy.

"Taecyeon. Wooyoung. Chansung. Nichkhun. Junho. Junsu...." He recited their names with effort, as he felt a lump in his throat.

'I wonder how they're doing.' He thought to himself.

Getting up, he grabbed the laptop a fan had given him that was sitting on his night stand. As he opened it, the screen whirred to life. He clicked the internet icon, and typed in the address of a K-Pop website.

A smile made it's way onto his face as he read one of the article titles.

2PM's "Without U" wins on M! Countdown

"They're doing just fine." His smile grew larger, feeling proud of the members even though he wasn't participating in their activities.

He was watching the video clip attached to the article, and saw each of the member's faces as they won the Mutizen.

"I wonder..." Taking the phone that was also on the night stand, he pulled out a phone card from his wallet. "I still should have some minutes on this..."

Slowly, but surely, he dialed the numbers he needed, and heard the phone ring. He didn't expect his call to be picked up; he thought it would just keep on ringing.

"Hello?" A familiar voice rang through Jaebum's ears, shocking him into silence.

"Is anyone there?" The voice repeated; Jaebum swallowed.

"Good job on winning the Mutizen, Taec." He spoke softly, finally gaining the courage to speak.

It was quiet on the other line for a few moments. "Jay, is that you?" Taecyeon asked, surprise evident in his own voice.

"Yeah...it's me." Jaebum clenched the phone, an awkward silence enveloping the conversation.

"How are you doing, Jay?" Taecyeon asked after a while.

"I'm fine. How is everyone else doing?" Jaebum wondered, as he was much more interested in hearing about the others rather than talking about himself.

"Oh well, you know. Chansung's eating as much as ever, Junsu's practicing singing, Junho's dancing, Nichkhun's practicing his piano, and Wooyoung's still trying to get a better body than you." Taecyeon laughed a little.

The words from his friend made Jaebum laugh as well. "Of course...and tell Wooyoung he's never going to catch up to me."

The two laughed together, but Jaebum still felt a lump in his throat. He felt happy to know that his brothers were doing okay, but he started feeling sad, almost like the day he left South Korea.

"I take it you saw the performance." Taecyeon stated after their laughter died down.

Jaebum nodded in response,  "Yeah. You guys have gotten better."

Silence ensued. Taecyeon was the one to break it this time. "Jay, are you really okay?"

The question caught Jaebum off gaurd. He coughed, as he felt slight moisture in his eyes.

"Two minutes remaining." An automated voice informed Jaebum, snapping him back into reality.

"Jay?" His name was called again on the other side of the line.

"I only have two minutes left, Taec. Damn this stupid phone card..." He chuckled, trying to change the subject from him.

"Jay...keep your chin up man. I've seen your latest videos on Youtube. Don't give up." Taecyeon said seriously.

A grin could be found on the leadja's features. This was the Taecyeon he was best friends with, the one that told him not to give up during their trainee years. "Thanks man."

"One minute remaining." The automated voice spoke again.

"Tell Junsu he needs to move sharper. Tell Chansung to stop eating bananas before performances if he still does that... and just tell everyone else, " he paused, "Tell everyone that I miss them."

A chuckle could be heard from Taecyeon. "Jay, we miss you too."
This isn't my best work, I realize. It's just something completely random that popped into my head, and I felt like I should type it out.
